Some kitchens are on the small side (mine is a narrow, galley style kitchen) and there`s not much you can do to actually increase the space. But below are a few tips to make it APPEAR larger than it is.
1, Bright, well lit.
2, Light, pastel colours.
3, Plain, modern cupboard doors, perhaps maple or beech (not chamfered, old country cottage oak doors)
4, Try having all your units around they edge of the room, utilising all the wall space including corners, leaving the middle of the room with a free space.
5, The main thing is to keep clutter to a minimum. Find cupboard space for most of your utensils and have nothing out on the worktops except for things needed for everyday use(ie kettle, toaster, etc)

keep the paint simple and light. keep the counters clean and clear
color is always plays a big role in how we percept the size of a room light colored cabinets not white too blah, use lighter colors pastels on walls and a little darker shade on trim of same color family can make a room feel warmer and joyfull , steer away from big pattern styled wall paper, instead add texture to the walls such as knockdown or skip trowl with a two toned affect or even venetian plastering . If you have an unobstructed corner swag some fabric with wall hanging votives with the candles matching the fabric (not to close to each other of coarse) natural stone tiles on floors ,counters and backsplash 3 different sizes and shades make it random patterns are boring and can be constricting , be free and don’t over think it find a good licensed remodeler and have them help with some of the design aspects, and have them do the difficult tasks and only take on the projects you can do yourself it can make the project go more smoothly! Go to your local home center and have design a layout for your cabinets it’s free. Good luck with your project and don’t forget to have fun!!!
Use light color wood if you want a wooden kitchen (maple, beech, light oak)
Get your kitchen painted a nice color farrow and ball off white looks great RAL: 1013.
A cream high gloss kitchen can change the lines in a kitchen adding a modern twist and opening the room up.
Choose a light Quartz color on the top or even back painted glass if you wanted a specific color.
Do not run your wall cabinets to ceiling height this will make the roof seem lower and the room feel smaller.
If ceilings are high enough, install a coffer ceiling, and paint it bright white. It will give you the added feeling of height.
Natural light is always a plus, so the largest window(s) that will work in your design will help, along with a skylight(s) or light tunnel tube(s).
Lighter colored finishes on cabinets and woodwork, light colored flooring, and no island cabinets will also help.
